4th Quarter Group Production

This quarter we were put in groups to come up with a product, we also had to make a logo, website, commercial and packaging design for it. We had the entire quarter to work, we had two weeks to spend on each aspect of it and then prepare our presentation. Our group didn't really face challenges because we got our product idea fairly quickly and everything went smoothly from there. We all split up the work evenly or everyone designed something then we would vote which one we would use on the website as our final product. I learned that a well working team is about cooperation and everyone needs to be willing to work, if you don't have that then your team will face difficulties.

When I was designing the packaging I had to make several designs because once you put something in Sketchup it can look very different than you originally intended. I believe that I did a pretty good job this quarter, I designed our logo and advertising, the intro video, and packaging design.

During class I always tried to make sure I completed everything I was assigned and put my best effort into everything. I worked on the commercial, logo, and packaging. Whenever I finished something I would always ask someone to look at it so i could get their opinion on whether I could improve it. Outside of class I would look at tutorials on how to design better or how to edit a video better. I also looked at a lot of fonts that could go with the designs or ads. My strengths in e-comm would Graphic Design and Video. I could definitely improve in video, since I have drawn my entire life I can easily grasp Graphic Design and it comes naturally to me. I need to learn how to make more cinematic shots and use my camera properly, I also need to learn how to improve on my editing skills and become the best I can be.

My favorite part of this quarter was the Graphic and Video rotations, I love editing and designing. One thing I would change is how I made my video, I could have done a voice over with a single rotation of the case then transition into clips of all angles of the case with a catchy song. This was a really satisfying year of e-comm and I enjoyed every bit of it. I am sad to be leaving it but I know its something I will continue to work on my free-time and continue developing my skills

Bouncing Ball Animation

The second project we did in animation was make 3 bouncing ball animations. We started out by learning how to create and animate a ball bouncing vertically. Once we learned that we got into the process of learning how to make the ball bounce in arcs. We also had to know that the more balls there are in an arc the longer it takes for the ball to bounce and the less amount of balls in the arc the faster it goes. For this project we used Adobe Photoshop, everything we did was new to me because I've never animated before. I would have liked to have gotten it quicker so I could have had more time to do the animation.

Sidewalk Chalk

On our Sixth day of school all the new first hour members of the 21st century program of E-communication were gathered together for a team building activity. The activity differed from all the other classroom activities because it actually forced us to talk to each other for more than a few minutes. We were gathered into groups of four and then we had to choose our symbols, colors to represent our selves. My group decided to represent teamwork in our banner. We all chose a animal that best represented ourselves then drew them working together to hand over the golden x-box remote. in the process we became friends and enjoyed the time spent together.

Personality Type

My Myers-Brigg personality type is an ENTP. Each letter stands for something, the E means that I am more Extroverted than Introverted. The N is for Intuition over Sensing, the T means that I think or feel. Lastly is P an that means I Perceive over Judge. Some of the famous people that share my personality type are Alexander the Great and Walt Disney. I think my personality type describes me rather well. One of the things that was right on was that ENTPs are curious and I think of myself as a very curious person. There is always something new that catches my interest everyday. Another thing that was spot on about me was that I don't like to judge people quickly, I don't know what their situation is and its not correct to just quickly label someone without getting to know them better.
